Renewals and name changes can be requested by mail without the need to present your application and supporting documents to an acceptance agent.
Those who apply at a passport office in Alviso can select either rountine processing in 6 to 8 weeks or expedited passport service with an estimated processing time of 2 to 3 weeks. There is an additional fee of $60 to expedite the application. Faster service is available at the nearest regional agency where applications can be processed as quickly as the same day.
