The number of passport offices in Pittsburgh has decreased
significantly over the past couple of years. All but one are located in
post offices. Acceptance agents at these facilities
receive applications and supporting documents for new passports from
American citizens. Most require an appointment.
It is only necessary to visit one of these locations if you are submitting application Form DS-11 for a new passport. Applications for other passport services - renewals, name change, and corrections, etc. - can be submitted by mail.

It takes 4 to 6 weeks for an application to be processed. Applicants
can request the application be expedited if they want to get their
travel document in 2 to 3 weeks. Those who require rush service in
order to get the application processed in less than 2 weeks to as fast
as the same day can schedule an appointment at the Philadelphia Passport Agency or employ the services of a registered expediter.
