How to Make an Appointment

If You Have Not Applied Yet

Use the Online Passport Appointment System. Enter your travel information to confirm that you qualify. You may schedule one appointment for up to seven members of your household. The system will verify your email address and mobile phone number before you select an appointment.

After selecting a date and time, confirm the appointment from the email you receive. The system holds the appointment for 15 minutes. Use the link in that confirmation email if you need to change or cancel it.

If You Have Already Applied

Call the National Passport Information Center at 1-877-487-2778. Agents are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Se habla español. If you are deaf or hard of hearing, call 1-888-874-7793 for TDD/TTY services.

Have your nine-digit application locator number available. The first two digits identify the agency or center reviewing your application. If there is enough time, the State Department may notify that facility of your urgent travel. If not, it may schedule an agency appointment for you.

Appointment details are unique to the appointment holder and cannot be transferred. Call to change or cancel an appointment made by phone.
