Where to Apply for a Passport

There are only two passport application acceptance facilities in
Lexington, Kentucky. We have included a few more in nearby cities to
provide applicants with more options. Note, most acceptance facilities
require an appointment. Please call or set an appointment online before visiting.
Regular processing service can take up to 8 weeks while
expedited processing is estimated to take from 2 to 3 weeks. If you
have urgent travel needs, you can schedule an appointment at a regional passport agency. If you do not have time to personally visit one of the agencies, you can authorize a registered expediter such as Rush My Passport to submit the application on your behalf.

If you pay the additional $60 for expedited service, you will receive your passport in 4 to 6 weeks.
Regional passport agencies are offering extremely limited in-person services if you need to travel
internationally in the next 72 hours. Those with qualified life-or-death emergencies are prioritized.
Life-or-death emergencies are serious illnesses, injuries, or deaths in
your immediate family (parent, legal guardian, child, spouse, sibling,
and grandparent) that require you to travel outside the United States
within 72 hours (3 business days).
