My Passport Paper Work
(Livonia Mi, USA)
Question: I applied for a Passport Card two months ago. I paid my fee and had letters sent to me twice now for more info. The first was for a divorce papers which no one informed I needed at my initial visit. Now, I have a letter stating they need a picture ID, driver's license, employment, etc. I gave that with my money at the Post Office, which I had to go home for on the first appointment because they failed to tell me I needed my marriage certificate.
My elderly mother-in-law was hoping we could have this by March so she and I could go to Canada. PLLEEEEEEEASSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEE someone who knows what is going on with such a simple thing as getting a passport card (which I thought it would be) help me with getting it sent to my home. I already gave them my driver's license. They got that copy of information with everything else.
Thank you and please can someone finalize this so I can take my 87-year-old in-law to her favorite place in Canada. ThanksAnswer:
We do not have access to your application process for your passport card
. If the State Department Passport Services is requesting more documents, the best way to get the process completed is to provide the information requested in the letter.
Again, we do not know why these documents are being requested since we cannot access your process. If you would like to speak with a representative, you can try contacting the National Passport Information Center
at 1-877-487-2778. Of course, it is quite possible that they will just tell you to follow the instructions in the letter.
