My expedited passport has not arrived yet.

Question: Hello, my Name is Elton and I am traveling on January 7th of next year. I provided a self-addressed FedEx envelope with all required documents to complete the passport application process.

I took the oath on last December 12, paid for expedited service in full in person and I was informed by the agent on site at the Washington DC agency as well as supervisors on site that they would send my passport speedily for arrival in time for my departure in January once the certified birth certificate was received as the one that was in my possession when I appeared in person was not legible.

I have contacted the passport hotline and spoken with several agents who all gave me different information; I was informed today that the passport remains at will call awaiting pick up although I have requested FedEx delivery.

Please, please, please I need very urgent help. How can I contact the DC agency directly? Can you please contact me directly with an updated status on the shipping of the passport? Thank you so much for all of your urgent attention in the matter.

Answer:There is no telephone number to contact the Washington DC regional passport agency directly. All contact must go through the National Passport Information Center. You can call 1-877-487-2778 or email npic@state.gov to request more information about the expedited processing of your passport application.

Delays can happen for many different reasons. There can be problems with your photo or questiosn about the supporting documents you submitted.

If contacting customer support has not provided you with a satisfactory answer, you might consider visiting the nearest regional agency.

Professional couriers cannot assist you once the application has been submitted.
