Forgot to check Passport Book box on DS-82. Will they send it back?

I am renewing my passport and I forgot to check the Passport Book box at the top of the form. I have indicated on the application that I will be traveling to Italy. Will they send it back? If they do, I could have a time issue.

Your application may be returned to you but it is unlikely. Your payment of $110 should indicate that you want a passport book since it is only $30 to renew a passport card and $140 to renew both.
If the application is returned for you to complete and resubmit and you are pressed for time, you can expedite the service. Requesting expedited service by mail will get the renewal processed in 2-3 weeks.
For quicker service, you can apply at the New Orleans Passport Agency that serves residents of Georgia or go through a passport expediter.
