Question: I have been married for 15 years but my husband and I separated after 7 years of marriage. So I wanted to know what happens if i put on my passport that I've never been married?

Answer: False statements made knowingly and willfully in passport applications, including affidavits or other documents submitted
to support this application, are punishable by fine and/or imprisonment under the provisions of 18 USC 1001, 18 USC 1542, and/or 18
USC 1621.

Question: Trying to complete passport application and can only remember month and year I was divorced. Do you need to know the date of the month?

Answer: The date should be on your divorce decree. Complete as much of the application as possible. Only include information that is correct. Incomplete information can lead to delays.
