A valid passport with a visa for Kenya is required for entering the country. Visitors to Kenya are advised to obtain the e-visa through Kenya Immigration's new online system. Visas-on- arrival may only be issued for emergency situations. You can apply for a Kenya visa on your own or seek the assistance of a Kenya visa courier service.

Kenya Visa Requirements

For a Kenya travel visa request, you are required to submit the following at either the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya or their consulate general.

  • a valid passport with 6 months validity remaining;
  • two recent passport photos;
  • a valid round trip ticket or letter from your travel agent verifying your travel plans;
  • completed Kenya visa application form;
  • payment (money order);
  • . a self-addressed prepaid return envelope with delivery confirmation (Fedex, Express Mail and Priority only); UPS, Metered stamps and Regular mail envelopes are not acceptable.

Kenya travel visas are affixed in your passport on the pages specifically marked for them. Countries require that visa stamps be placed on those pages that do not contain any other stamps

There is only one Kenya visa application form for every type of travel visa. All applications for a visa to Kenya must now be completed online.

After filling out the Kenya visa application form and gathering the appropriate documents, you need to choose how to process your visa.

The Kenya Embassy and Consulate-General have both a walk-in and a mail-in service. Your Kenya visa will be issued within 14 days from the date the application was received.

Kenya Tourist Visa

Kenya has increased the validity of short-term visas for U.S. citizens. Visas valid for 5 years (multiple-entry) may now be obtained via the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Washington D.C. A single entry Kenya tourist visa is valid for up to 30 days from the day of entry.

Upon arrival, your documents will be examined by an inspection agent. If everything is correct, they will be stamped with an entry seal.

Kenya Business Visa

Kenya Business Visas are also valid for 5 years with a duration of 30 days for each entry.

To apply for a single or multiple-entry business visa, you must include a Business letter written on your company's stationery. It must be addressed to the Embassy or Consulate of Kenya. The letter should include your name, position in the company, nature of business to be conducted in Kenya, name and address of contact in Kenya, length of stay and the number of entries requested. It must also declare that the company will be financially responsible for your living expenses including round trip transportation. The letter should be signed by someone other than yourself.
