To get to this exciting African destination, there are airlines from Europe mostly from London to the capital city Banjul and from New York to Dakar, Senegal. Traveling to Gambia requires you to have your valid passport and visa. There are two Gambia visa available, tourist and business. All visitors to Gambia are also required to have return or onward tickets, itinerary for their destinations, and sufficient funds to cover their period of stay. The passport must also be valid for at least six months from arrival date. Otherwise, passport shall have to be renewed by ETS or Expert Travel Services with the corresponding fees that apply. For travelers who are on last minute bookings with their trip to Gambia, they will only be allowed entry to Gambia if they submit their passports to the Department of Immigration in Banjul within 48 hours from their arrival to be issued proper visas.

For tourists, the Gambia visa application will require you your passport, visa application form, two passport-size pictures, a copy of your round trip airline tickets, proof of financial sufficiency, and an itinerary or letter of conformation from your travel agency. For business purposes, the first five requirements will have to be produced as well for securing your Gambia visa in addition to a business letter that states your purpose, the duration of your visit, and your responsibility to shoulder travel expenses. You will also be required a letter of invitation from the host company in Gambia. For single entry visas up to 90 days, it will cost you $100 for the embassy fee and applicable travel agent fee and this will be processed within 5-10 business days. For single entry visas that will be available in 1-3 business days, you can add an additional $50 embassy fee and additional applicable travel agent fee.
