Question: Where do I go in Argentina if my passport is lost or stolen while I am there next week?
Answer: Besides the documents listed below for replacing a lost passport, it is recommended that you keep a copy of your passport in a safe place to facilitate completing the lost passport report.
If your passport is lost or stolen while
visiting Argentina, present yourself at the U.S. Embassy, Colombia Ave, 4300 between Monday thru Friday 8:30-12:00. You will need to bring the following:
* Photo identification (driver's license, etc.).
* Proof of citizenship (copy of your passport, US birth certificate or Naturalization Certificate).
* Police report of the loss or theft. (Visit the local police before going to the Embassy.)
* Fee: US $110
FEES: Payable in Cash in US dollars, or the equivalent in Arg. pesos, and international credit card (Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express and Diners)
