Is it possible to get a copy of my passport and, if so, how?

Question: Is it possible to get a copy of my passport from 2000 and, if so, how? I took a trip to Cancun, Mexico in 2000.
Answer: The U.S. Department of State Consular Services does not maintain copies of passport of U.S. citizens.
The only passport record you can obtain from the State Department normally consist of applications for United States passports and supporting evidence of United States citizenship.
This would not not include evidence of travel such as entrance/exit stamps, visas, residence permits, etc., since this information is entered into the passport book after it is issued.
