Question: I forgot to include my passport with my renewal application. What do I do?

Answer: The application will be returned to you. You can then resubmit it and include your passport.

If the delay creates a situation in which you need to renew your passport more quickly, you can request expedited services. There is an additional $60 fee but you should get your passport renewed in 2-3 weeks instead of the 4-6 weeks that it takes for regular processing.

If 2-3 weeks is too long to wait, you can either submit your application for renewal at a regional passport agency or authorize a private passport expediting service to do it for you.
