What counts for proof of travel to get appointment for expedited passort service?
Question: I am a U.S citizen who will apply for a U.S. passport and will make a report of birth abroad for my 18 month old daughter who was born in the Dominican Republic where we currently live.
I have travel plans with my daughter within the next 15 days. Since the dates fill quickly, the only option we have is to book the option which gives me access to a closer date for my appointment "Traveling within the next 15 days" that requires proof for travel.
That is where my question rises. What counts for proof of travel in these cases?Answer:
To answer your questions simply, a copy of your travel itinerary would suffice to prove immediate travel plans.
From your explanation above, I could not tell if you are presently in the Dominican Republic
and planning to travel to the United States or in the United States and planning to travel to the Dominican Republic.
If you are in the Dominican Republic, you can submit the application for both the Consular Report of Birth Abroad and a passport for your child at the U.S. Embassy in Santo Domingo.
