Tanzania Tourist Visa

This type of visa is issued by the Tanzanian embassy to those who wish to enter the country through designated entry points. There are two types of Tanzania ordinary or tourist visas:

1. Tourist Single – Granted to those who wish to enter the country once during the ninety (90) day validity period. The consular fees associated with this type of visa are: $100 (6 days processing) or $120 (4 days processing).

2. Tourist Double – Granted to those who wish to enter Tanzania for more than once during the ninety (90) day validity period. The consular fees associated with this type of visa are: $100 (6 days processing) or $120 (4 days processing).

Tanzania Business Visa

This type of visa is issued to those who wish to enter Tanzania on business purposes. This is also issued to prospective investors to make business-related visits such as making feasibility studies, making investment arrangements, and establishing professional contacts. The visas are usually valid for three (3) months but the Tanzanian embassy sometimes provides such visas with one month to one year validity. There are two types of Tanzania business visas:

1. Business Single - Granted to those who wish to enter the country once for business purposes during the ninety (90) day validity period. The consular fees associated with this type of visa are: $100 (6 days processing) or $120 (4 days processing).

2. Business Double - Granted to those who wish to enter Tanzania for more than once during the given validity period. The consular fees associated with this type of visa are: $100 (6 days processing) or $120 (4 days processing).

Tanzania Referred Visa

This type of visa is required for the Lebanon, Pakistan, Somalia, Nigeria and Bangladesh nationals as well as for refugees, stateless people and other nationalities specified by authorities. This type of visa requires special permission or clearance from the in Dar es Salaam Director of Immigration Services or the Zanzibar Principal Immigration Officer.

This type of visa gives a person the permission to cross Tanzania one entry point to another or to those who simply want to pass through the territory without visiting.

Requirements

All visa applicants must provide a valid US passport, one passport sized photograph, a copy of roundtrip ticket or itinerary, and proof of financial ability (bank letter or statement that contains your name and address). Non-US passport holders should also provide proof of legal status in the US. Business visa applicants must also provide a letter of invitation from Tanzania and a business letter on the company letterhead which contains the following information: reference or firm name in Tanzania, nature of business, and a financial responsibility guarantee from your company.
