Question: My passport expires in August 2010 but I have a 5 year visa for a foreign country that has 4+ years remaining.
Will that Visa transfer to my new passport?
Also, will I get my expired passport back in the mail with the new passport?
Answer: Yes, your old passport will be canceled and returned to you with the new passport. You may have to re-apply for the travel visas that is currently in your passport.
Some countries allow you to keep the visa in the old passport. This would require you to travel with both passports. Please contact the relevant foreign embassy or consulate for information.
