Question: I applied for a passport while deployed in Iraq. It has taken a lot longer than expected and now I am redeploying back to North Carolina.
When I looked up the status of it, it said it was mailed to the embassy or consulate where I applied.
I need it in 3 weeks, is there any way to get a new one sent stateside or what are my options?
Answer: You should contact the embassy or consulate where you applied and inform them of the situation. Since they will be receiving your passport, they can help you find a solution. For a list of U.S. embassies and consulates worldwide, click the link below.
