My daughter's passport expires in 2011. Does she need a new one to travel to Europe this summer?
by Debra
My child was issued a passport in Feb 2006 when she was 13. It expires in Feb 2011. She is traveling to Europe this summer on a teen tour without a parent. Does she need a new passport before she goes? The need to obtain a new passport for your daughter depends on when the passport will expire and which countries she will visit on the tour. Some countries require at least six months validity remaining in a passport beyond the visit before they will issue a visa or allow a traveler to enter. Count six months after your daughter's expected return date. If the expiration date is beyond this date, then there is no need to renew the passport. If it expires before this date, you need to verify the entry requirements for the countries she will visit. Foreign Entry Requirements Best regards, William |
