My daughter's passport expires in 2011. Does she need a new one to travel to Europe this summer?

My child was issued a passport in Feb 2006 when she was 13. It expires in Feb 2011. She is traveling to Europe this summer on a teen tour without a parent. Does she need a new passport before she goes?
