How do I get a biometric passport photo for my passport renewal ?

Question: Please tell me if you take the correct size photos for the UK passport, these are not the same as US passport photos and they have to be exact as the information will be put into a micro chip that gets included in the passport.

I have tried 6 times now at various places to get this done and all were not right, whether too big, not clear enough or with the wrong background color.

I will have to drive two hours to get to you and want to make sure that it will not be a wasted journey.

I hope you can help me as I have lost many days trying to get this done and keep getting wrong information.

Answer: You can make the photos right form your home if you have a digital camera, computer and printer. There are three steps.

1. Take a picture following the United Kingdom passport photo guidelines. (Opens in new window)

2. Upload the picture to your computer.

3. Visit ePassportPhoto.com UK page where you will upload your photo, prepare it and then print.
