Question: We are scheduled to leave for business for our company on November 19, 2010. We have an appointment at the Kluczynski Federal Building on Monday November 15, 2010.
We have all the necessary paperwork and need to know if we paid the expedited fees will they be able to issue ours that day since we live over 2.5 hours from Chicago?
Answer: While it is possible that you will receive your passports the same day, we cannot make that guarantee. There are many variables that can affect the time it takes to process the applications.
Regional agencies have a limited number of same day passports that they can process each day. We cannot predict how many applicants will be applying on the 15th. Also, those with departure dates prior to yours will have priority over your requests.
Finally, since we are unable to review your documents and passport photos, we cannot affirm that they will be accepted. The submission of unacceptable documents or passport photos that do not meet the standards determined by the Department of State is a major reason why applications are denied.
I know this does not provide you with a solid answer but that is the reality of the situation. You may get your passports the same day. However, you may have to pick them up the next day or, even, the day after if the passport agency is very busy.
