Egypt - An Experience Overload

If you are into sun all year, long sandy beaches, turquoise blue waters, coral reefs, snorkelling, diving, ancient history, culture and monuments, river cruises, birds watching, desert excursions, religious tours… Well, then you should consider Egypt for your next holiday.

Located in North Africa and having sea borders to the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea nature has set a superior geographical scene for your vacation of a lifetime.

Furthermore, the Nile River runs through Egypt into the Mediterranean Sea. Actually, if it was not for the topographic channel that permits the longest river in the world to flow across the Sahara Egypt would be entirely desert. Nevertheless, because of the Nile an ancient culture developed into what we today consider the cradle of civilization.

The ancient Egyptians were the first people of antiquity to believe in life after death. They were the first to build in stone and to fashion the arch in stone and brick. They were accomplished sailors and shipbuilders. They learned to chart the heavens in order to predict the Nile flood. Their physicians prescribed healing remedies and performed surgical operations. They sculpted in stone and decorated the walls of their tombs with naturalistic murals in vibrant colours.

Today, the legacy of the ancient Egyptians is written in stone across the face of the country from the pyramids to the rock tombs in the Valley of the Kings to the Old Kingdom temples of Luxor and Karnak to the Ptolemaic temples of Edfu and Dendera and to the Roman temple to Isis on Philae Island.

Because of these famous attractions Egypt is probably the oldest tourist location in the world, its marvels attracting the early Greeks, Romans, Islamic rulers and French emperors.

Egypt CairoThese days however, Egypt has far more to offer than its ”monuments overload”. Apart from its visual beauty, the country offers luxury hotels and restaurants, sparkling nightlife, captivating Nile River cruises and excellent Red Sea scuba diving.

If you decide to give Egypt a try you better get yourself ready for an adventure. Egypt is a country, which truly offers its visitor an experience overload.
