Don't Know Exact Divorce Date

Question: I have all the papers needed to apply for my Passport Card to go to Canada, but I never got my divorce papers when I divorced in 1981 -- my ex husband has lost them as well. I have sent to the NY Clerk for a records search but that could take 8 weeks. Can I get a Passport Card without having the EXACT date of my divorce from over 29 years ago?

Answer: Incomplete passport application forms can cause delays in the processing of your travel document or rejection of the same.

Internet or phone orders to the NY Vital Records office are processed in 5-7 business days. It is only requests made my regular mail that take 8 weeks.
