Do I need to renew my passport for my business trip to Scotland?

Question: Have just learned of a business trip I need to make to Scotland (St. Andrews) leaving June 7th and returning June 11th. My passport expires in October. Do I need to get my passport renewed PRIOR to making this trip? If I do, could I be directed to a reputable expediter?

Answer: While some countries impose a minimum passport validity of three, six, or nine months for arriving passengers, there is no such requirement for the United Kingdom. American citizens seeking entry as tourists or visitors (includes business travelers) are simply required to present a valid passport.
