Do I need to renew my passport before traveling to the Philippines since it is valid for 4 more months?

Question: My passport will expire June 20 2010. I'm traveling in Philippine on Feb 25 and be back here in March 16. Do i need to renew my passport before leaving? I think I have no time to renew it before i leave.

Answer: According to the State Department, U.S. citizens may enter the Philippines without a visa for tourism purposes upon presentation of their U.S. passport, valid for at least six months after the date of entry into the Philippines, and a return ticket to the United States or an onward ticket to another country.

You need to renew you passport before you travel. Since you only have one week to do this, then you must either visit a Philadelphia passport agency or apply through a professional passport expediter.
